Colbert Matsumoto, Executive Chairman of Island Holdings, Inc. operating subsidiaries such as Island Insurance, Atlas Insurance, and Tradewind Capital Group.  Mr. Matsumoto has been active in legal, business, and civic affairs for over 40 years having served leadership roles in both profit and non-profit organizations.  Mr. Matsumoto’s significant efforts include providing leadership and guidance as head of Committee to Save the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii in addition to leading the much needed reforms that took place due to his review of the annual accounts of the Trustees of Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate.  Furthermore, in 2009, he assisted in the founding of the U.S.-Japan Council which serves as the nation’s leading organization that promotes interpersonal relations between Japanese and Americans.  Born in Lanai, Mr. Matsumoto graduated from Berkeley School of Law in 1978.
