Will the 0.5% county surcharge for rail be extended or made permanent? What will happen to the income tax rates and adjustments scheduled to expire at the end of 2015? Will there be a new tax on sugary drinks? Or will the new administration hold the line to control the growth of state government? Come and find out the answer to these issues and more at the Tax Foundation of Hawaii’s Legislative Briefings.
In addition to the status of tax measures, legislative monitors from various areas of interest to business will be invited to share their issues with members. Among the areas which may be included are labor issues, insurance proposals, and concerns of the transportation and visitor industry.
Dates have been selected to coincide with key dates of the legislative calendar and an early morning (7:30 a.m.) continental breakfast at the Pacific Club was selected as the venue for these presentations which are scheduled to last not more than one hour. The dates are:

Special rates have been set for Tax Foundation members at $180 for the complete series of four sessions. Attendance at individual sessions will be $50 for Tax Foundation members. Nonmembers may attend at the rate of $275 for the series of four sessions, attendance at individual sessions will be $75 per session for nonmembers.
Attendance at the sessions will qualify for one CPE credit per session. Deadline for registration is set for February 13th. If you are interested in attending, please use the registration form. Questions and specific details may be directed to the Foundation’s staff at 536-4587.
